Nokia N-Gage Series 60 Gaming Details: It's Better Than We Expected

Remember the new N-Gage software we told you about a month ago? The ones that were playable on Series 60 Nokia phones? We've got some new details on it.

The easy way to describe the whole experience is Xbox Live Arcade for mobiles. You've got an Xbox Live kind of system with usernames, friends lists, gamer points, profiles, and arcade-like games from studios like EA and Gameloft. What does this mean to you, the Series 60 user? Well, if you've got one of the select Series 60 phones released recently—they haven't specified which yet—or any new Series 60 coming up, you'll be able to load this suite onto the phone and start gaming.

Compared to the Nintendo DS and PSP, the games aren't nearly as good (of course). But compared to standard mobile games, they're great.

Anime comes to BGSU

Although Sibs and Kids events will dominate this weekend, students can also attend a free anime convention. Tomorrow the Bowling Green chapter of Anime in Northwest Ohio will have its fifth annual convention.

ANO is a campus-sponsored club that meets every Friday to discuss and watch anime.

"Anime" is short for animation that originates in Japan.

The club's membership has grown since its conception from about 12 members to 80 registered members.

Animarathon V will take over 12 rooms in Olscamp. Some of these rooms range from anime screening rooms to a dealer's room where participants can purchase Anime and Manga, which is Japanese for comics and print cartoons.

There is also a Cosplay room where participants are able to dress up as any video character they choose.

The Bachelor Recap: April 23

Was Bevin able to continue despite her sprained ankle? And what exotic place did Andy take the girls? Most importantly, which three girls were eliminated. Find out in our Bachelor recap:

The girls are informed this week's round of dates will not be held in L.A. but instead in Lake Tahoe. And the best part? Andy is taking them in a private jet. Damn. I want one of those!

On the plane, Bevin whines about not being to do anything active and worries that Andy will have more fun with the other girls. I guess I can't really blame her. I'd probably feel the same way. Then again, she has that whole "damsal-in-distress" card to play.

The girls are told there will be two group dates and one individual date this week.

Group Date 1 The Girls: Nicole, Stephanie KC, Danielle and Bevin The Date: A night of gambling

When the date box first arrives, Bevin bursts into tears and whines again about her ankle and how "even the simplest thing" is hard to do.

Lenovo Beats Apple, HP iPods the Game Market, More Gifts for Dads ...

It is impressive that a company not known for gaming is moving to take the industry by storm. At the very least, HP has given notice that it is coming, and competitors better lock up their women and children. It is vastly easier and less risky just to compete on performance -- but changing an industry is the stuff legends are made of.

Test Drive Unlimited Gets New Xbox 360 DLC

Proof enough that there is a sense of balance to the world, just days after Activision shocked the Xbox 360 community with their overpriced Guitar Hero II song packs, Atari rolls onto the scene with some new Test Drive Unlimited downloadable content...for free. While there is a difference, to be sure, between racing and playing a guitar, it is nice to know that gamers will be able to catch an occasional break when they’re looking to get a little more out of their games.

The Test Drive Unlimited DLC comes from a new deal between game developer/publisher Atari and luxury carmaker Lexus. 360 owners can now head to the Xbox Live Marketplace and download two new vehicles: the Lexus GS 450h and the Lexus LS 460. More content is expected later this year, including the Lexus SC 430 and Lexus 2008 LS 600h L.

Yahoo's Upgrades And Migrates Events Site Upcoming

Now there are a range of startups and more established sites providing local events information. They include Socializr, Attendio, Eventful, Zvents, Citysearch, AOL Cityguide, Heyletsgo, Jambase, the various ticket sites and Yahoo's Upcoming, among others. And this doesn't include all the online newspaper calendars and entertainment guides.

When Yahoo bought "social events calendar" Upcoming.org more than a year ago, the site was basically three guys, a cool idea and some software, but not lots of data. The events information is entirely provided by the community. And Yahoo! has greatly upgraded and improved the site since the acquisition.

Today the Yahoo Search Blog announced some additional changes and upgrades, including the integration of Flickr and the transition of Upcoming.org onto the Yahoo! Local platform.
