Not so secret anymore: "Top Secret" is a racing MMO game

Dave Perry should be very proud of his on-going project aptly dubbed for now as "Top Secret." After explaining the mechanics of the competition behind the making of the said MMO video game, the community's response to it has been nothing but overwhelming. To date, there's more or less 23,000 different individuals who want to become a part of this community project.

Talking to gaming site Games Industry recently, the founder of Shiny Entertainment finally revealed some important details on "Top Secret." According to Dave Perry, it's going to be a racing game and Acclaim is more than happy to support this proposition. Perry shared,

For our first project we'll make a racing game, simply because as a genre it really needs fresh new ideas. We're betting that with 23,000-plus developers we'll be so buried in new ideas, it's going to be tough to choose between them all - a nice problem to have.

Your Views: More on the gun debate

I travelled a lot around the world and the remarks by the majority of New Zealanders in this thread is, unfortunately, very typical. There is not a more insecure group of people on the planet.

The nice thing going for all of you folks living in other countries is that you do not have to live here with the likes of us and we are eternally grateful for that but it seems as though many of you would like to come here anyway at the drop of a hat. There was more than 20,000 rounds of ammo in my house when I was in high school and most of it was in my closet. There were more guns than you would ever believe. We had our own private in house pistol range. We made our own ammo. We call it America. Of course I voted for President Bush, was there a choice?

These killings in America are indeed appalling and this is something America will never kick.

MCP: BIT PLAYERS ROUNDTABLE #5

Welcome to the revival of CHUD.coms video game presence, Master Control Program. Since its an exciting [and expensive] time to be a video game aficionado, what better time to bring back the column that almost was, a look at all things console and handheld? That is what they call in the business a rhetorical question.

Todays Roundtable: To Achieve or Not To Achieve...

Alex Riviello (Xbox Live 'Creature Corner', Wii Number 3609 2823 5748 1076)

Hello. My name is Alex, and I'm an achievement junkie.

I finally broke down and got an Xbox 360 and a whole slew of games a few weeks ago, re-joining Xbox Live and finding out that I was pretty much right about online. But now, 3,000+ achievement points later, I consider myself hooked.

Poker Room Review: The Plaza, Las Vegas

There is good news and bad news about the poker room at the Plaza Hotel and Casino. First, there is location and then there is location. The room is tucked away in the back of the casino, which is good news. There is lots of floor space for the nine poker tables and half a dozen Pan tables. The room is well ventilated, well lit and well away from the smokers. Unfortunately, the Plaza is not only in downtown Las Vegas, it is also not centrally located downtown. If you are walking around the Fremont Street corridor in downtown you are more likely to wander into Binion's or the Golden Nugget to play poker but right down there at the East End of the Fremont Street Experience is the Plaza Hotel and Casino and a .

Nightlife Agenda

(Official Nightlife Agenda favorite scene in that movie, by the way.) Singer Richie James Follin still sounds pretty much like Jack White, and the band's aggressive blues-rock attack isn't far off from the Stripes themselves, but on the recent "Chautauqua," the band has moved beyond simply bashing out fuzzy garage rockers and even slows things down and gets introspective on occasion. Still, expect a raucous good time when the Willowz open for New Rock Church of Fire at the Red & the Black.

If you're not going to the Smithsonian, the Lisner, National Geographic or other such venues that help sponsor emerging forms of non-Western music, you're missing some of Washington's most intriguing musical experiences. In a fitting confluence of history and tradition, the National Museum of African American History and Culture is bringing forward-thinking Cuban pianist Omar Sosa to the Lincoln Theatre, a place that is a symbol of U Street's own musical melting pot.
