| Sony, Skype calling gamers
The consumer electronics industry has for many years now tried to shoe-horn a game (some would say game-like) experience on the mobile phone device, but this year, Sony swims upstream in the same waters. It has taken the PSP handheld game platform and turned it into a mobile phone -- albeit with limitations. But the value proposition for consumers is win-win. .
Smith: Injured Deng could be out vs. Kings
Bulls forward Luol Deng was scheduled to have an MRI exam on his injured left Achilles late Friday and might not be able to play tonight when the Bulls host the Sacramento Kings. ''I don't know how long [Deng is] out for but I don't think he's going to be ready [Saturday],'' forward Joe Smith said. ''Hopefully, we can all step up as a group and be able to take up some of the slack.'' .
The Untold Story: How the iPhone Blew Up the Wireless Industry
At press time, analysts were speculating that customers would snap up about 3 million units by the end of 2007, making it the fastest-selling smartphone of all time. It is also arguably Apple's most profitable device. The company nets an estimated $80 for every $399 iPhone it sells, and that's not counting the $240 it makes from every two-year AT&T contract an iPhone customer signs. Meanwhile, about 40 percent of iPhone buyers are new to AT&T's rolls, and the iPhone has tripled the carrier's volume of data traffic in cities like New York and San Francisco. But as important as the iPhone has been to the fortunes of Apple and AT&T, its real impact is on the structure of the $11 billion-a-year US mobile phone industry. For decades, wireless carriers have treated manufacturers like serfs, using access to their networks as leverage to dictate what phones will get made, how much they will cost, and what features will be available on them.
Camaro Trumps Dodge Challenger
There is no V6 for the Camaro if it goes into production it has been announced. Currently they have two V8 Engines available- the 400hp and the performance engine 505hp (used in the current Corvette Z06) which would run against your SRT-8 Challenger with 425hp. Who would be in the winners circle now? I come from a different viewpoint than all of you at age 18 and everyone I have talked to in my generation except 1 has liked the Camaro more. Another point-if Ford has screwed everything up-why is the Mustang the only pony car that survived through and through? Personally I am saving up for the 2009 Camaro release date everyone should be excited for. .
Anti-Bush Campaign Planned
A liberal advocacy group plans to spend $8.5 million in a drive to make sure President Bush's public approval doesn't improve as his days in the White House come to an end. Americans United for Change plans to undertake a yearlong campaign, spending the bulk of the money on advertising, to keep public attention on what the group says are the failures of the Bush administration, including the war in Iraq, the response to Hurricane Katrina, and the current mortgage crisis. In selling the plan to fundraisers, the group has argued that support for President Reagan was at a low of 42 percent in 1987 but climbed to 63 percent before he left office. "All of a sudden he became a rallying cry for conservatives and their ideology," said Brad Woodhouse, president of the group.
5-medal day for Canada at SwimCup 2007
I didn't hear the start at all," said Pierse, who was preparing to stand on the starter's block when the signal went off. "So I probably lost about three-tenths of a second right there and a chance to go under 2:25. "But I was pleased with how I fixed up that mistake quickly in the race." In the 800 freestyle, Ionela Cozma of Romania took the gold in 8:38.44, Hunks followed in 8:43.53 and Rebecca Cooke of Britain was third in 8:46.46. .

The NFL's forgotten legend
Since then the Cards have won exactly one playoff game. In 2003 there was a chance to make everything right when Steelers owner Dan Rooney, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell and Pottsville mayor John Reiley came up with a solution that had then commissioner Paul Tagliabue's blessing: let the Cards and the Maroons share the title. Tagliabue had even begun to make plans to come to Pottsville to give the town its title back. Instead, Rooney and Reiley say that current Cardinals owner Bill Bidwill used his influence behind the scenes to squash the Maroons petition. The owners never even discussed the case, they voted 30-2 against even talking about it or hearing the Maroons case. Bidwill has since refused numerous interview requests on the topic. "What's been done to this town and this team -- it's not right," says Rooney.
