Motherwell v Hearts: Preview

Motherwell welcome Jim Paterson back from suspension for the Scottish Cup fourth-round replay against Hearts.

Paterson is in the middle of a two-game SPL ban but is free to face Hearts.

Kenny Connolly remains on the sidelines following his broken leg but manager Mark McGhee should have an otherwise full squad.

Midfielder Steven McGarry believes the players' determination to reach the Scottish Cup fifth round will carry them through their return to action at Fir Park.

The Lanarkshire side return to their home ground since skipper Phil O'Donnell died after collapsing during a game against Dundee United on December 29.

They showed tremendous spirit to recover from two goals down and force a replay against Hearts in their first game back.

LIONS FINAL GRADES: Defense, special teams and coaching grades for '08 ...

Coach Rod Marinelli said the defensive line needed to drive the franchise, and the Lions got off to a strong start. When the Lions were 6-2, they had 24 sacks, tied for fourth in the NFL. But during their six-game losing streak, they had only eight sacks.
Tackle Shaun Rogers stood out during the first half of the season. The highlight of the year was his 66-yard interception return for a touchdown against the Broncos. But then he disappeared when the Lions needed him most. He was overweight and wore down over the course of the season, and there was no excuse. Marinelli went easy on him so he would be ready for Sundays.

Tackle Cory Redding provided leadership and effort, but not production. After racking up eight sacks in 11 games last season and landing a big contract, he had only one sack this season.

Do Pilots Practice Crash Landings?

Doctors delivered an electric shock to Vice President Dick Cheney's heart on Monday, jolting it back into a normal rhythm after they discovered an irregular heartbeat. This is the latest entry in an astonishing résumé of cardiac problems for the 66-year-old, who was back at work on Tuesday. Cheney has endured four heart attacks, two angioplasties, quadruple bypass surgery, a defibrillator implanted in his heart, aneurysms behind both knees, and a blood clot in his left leg. Isn't it time the vice president had a heart transplant?

Nope, he's way too healthy. Transplants are considered a last-ditch effort to save a patient. If the procedure works, he must take powerful immunosuppressants for the rest of his life. To be a transplant candidate, Cheney would have to suffer from end-stage heart failure, where the heart muscle is too weak to deliver blood to the rest of the body.

PRESS RELEASE: Blast Off With Planet Busters

Glasgow, UK, January 22nd 2008. Many videogames feature explosions – big explosions - but none of them have ever come close to the big bang of Planet Busters, the brand new PC title from Slam Games.

Planet Busters is a new casual game that combines fast, simple gameplay, with the chance to avenge mankind, rearrange the universe and – well – blow a lot of it up.

After a sneak attack by the evil Scourge, Earth is gone. Disintegrated. Vapourised. Nothing more than a slowly drifting cloud of interstellar dust.

As one of the few survivors of this unprovoked assault – you're pretty much furious. Thankfully you have a well-armed spaceship and time on your hands for a spot of revenge.

So you swear to chase the Scourge to the ends of the galaxy, communicating in the only language they understand – violent destruction.

Reshaped Braves aim toward spring training

Isn't FW considering getting a righty to back up Kotsay, like Raji Davis in San Fran? Also, isn't he trying to get more righty power in the OF, like Juan Rivera with the Angels, who's trade value should be very low right now.

Thanks for your reply,

Hammy the Brave
