This is a holiday treat you won't want to miss. If you didn't get to see our stories about the production on NewsChannel 7 you can watch them here on our website. Videographer Erik Cieslewicz really captured all the hard work and determination behind the scenes. As you will see, these young dancers are well-trained and passionate. Even when their feet hurt and they feel out of breath, they clearly love dancing! That joy shines through in their performance. I also had the pleasure of interviewing Carlos Lopez, a principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre, who will be playing the Nutcracker Prince. Carlos raves about the production and Wausau's historic Grand Theatre – which is a high compliment coming from someone who has performed all over the world. Thank you to the cast and crew of “The Nutcracker" for this beautiful start to the holiday season.

Microsoft's Larry Hryb detailed in his blog that Call of Duty 4 was the third most played game on Xbox Live, behind only Halo 3 and Gears of War. Even with the success of the console versions of Call of Duty 4, the developers of the game continue to put effort into extending the life of its work for the PC audience. Coming soon are mod tools for hobbyists to create new game modes, as well as a map editor to make new environments. Sadly, one issue that plagues PC gaming far more than consoles is the issue of piracy. Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward wrote in his fourzerotwo blog under the heading "They Wonder Why People Don't Make PC Games Any More" a particularly disturbing note commenting on the "astounding" number of people who have pirated Call of Duty 4 and play online. "On another PC related note, we pulled some disturbing numbers this past week about the amount of PC players currently playing Multiplayer (which was fantastic)," wrote Bowling.
Business Briefs
BOSTON — TJX Cos. was warned it had inadequate safeguards to protect credit card data the year before hackers broke into the discount retailer's systems and unearthed information from an estimated 100 million credit cards, banks that are suing TJX allege in a court filing. Despite the 2004 warning about compliance with credit card industry standards, TJX failed to fix many of the problems before hackers first broke into the company's systems in July 2005, according to the filing late Thursday in U.S. District Court in Boston. "This report identified numerous serious deficiencies at TJX, including specifically violations. TJX did not remedy many of these deficiencies," the filing says. Sherry Lang, a spokeswoman for Framingham, Mass.-based TJX, declined to comment Friday. .
Hip-Hop Rumors: Jay-Z Rumors, Eff G-Unit Clothing?, Luda's New Gal?
Just when you thought you've seen it all, something crazy happens. I'm not co-signing this madness but I was doing a lil' searching online and I stumbled on this G-Unit stuff. A company is creating “F G-Unit" gear! They even put a girl with no butt in their panties - you know that won't sell. LOL. I won't mention the company's name so they don't like join up with Ja Rule or The Game and make millions. LMAO. Anyway, this mess won't sell, but something else affiliated with G-Unit will..their new album. I heard some things are seriously percolating with that album. Check out the pics. This is not the booty Mos Def or Bubba Sparxxx rapped about. Put the bottle down. Also, 50 Cent just dropped a new book that tells his life through pictures and writings straight from 50 Cent.
SNP school plan sparks class war
Glasgow and Edinburgh education chiefs have told Scotland on Sunday they cannot implement an SNP pledge to slash classes in the early years of primary school to 18 pupils because they will cost too much, they do not have space for new classrooms and the plans will do little to boost standards. The rejection is a huge blow to the SNP as the move is a major plank of the party's plans to improve the quality of education over the next four years. Education Secretary Fiona Hyslop unveiled the pledge during the election campaign, arguing it would allow teachers to focus far more attention on pupils in the crucial early stages of schooling. But details of how she will fund the plan, estimated to cost around £200m over four years, have still to be set out. Last night, a war of words erupted with Labour-controlled Glasgow City Council, Scotland's biggest, where the Labour leader declared the plan would not be implemented unless it was forced by law.
