| Schools told 'up your game' by MP
One in ten Haringey schoolchildren are not getting enough exercise, according to new figures. Official statistics show 11 per cent of the borough's pupils are not doing the Government's target of at least two hours' exercise a week. However, the borough fares better than most others in London, with Haringey children ranking joint third in the capital for the time spent doing exercise. .

I drive past centuries of style with every supermarket run, and return to my 1960s Cape on its concrete-block foundation, knowing that if a pipe bursts or an electrical outlet shorts out, I won't need an architectural-history degree to make things right again. My last two homes in Chicago each had their own unique historical aspects, each an example of a classic style unique to that city's storied design past. My spacious condo in a circa 1904, six-unit apartment building, had a gracious, airy floor plan made for entertaining, with a split-parlor living room, beamed-ceilinged dining room and original windows throughout. My most recent home, in the city's famed Bungalow Belt, was one of about 80,000 brick houses built between the early 1910s and the late 1920s, in a collar around the city's outer borders.

Airwaves auction could usher in more choices, lower costs
Rural consumers will have choices of broadband wireless Internet service for the first time. "In rural areas, fewer than a third of people have access to broadband other than satellite, which provides half the speed at twice the price of what city people get," said Jeff Kohler, founder of JAB Wireless Inc., a Denver-based wireless broadband operator. "Competition will bring lower prices for everyone." The auction starts Thursday with spectrum divided into five blocks, with some blocks divided into as many as 734 individual regions across the nation. To maximize the auction's results, the FCC has forbidden bidders to say anything publicly about their bids, strategy or anything else regarding the auction. The FCC will post winning bids in each category but won't name the bidder.
