Burnout Paradise Ships for PS3, Xbox 360

Electronic Arts today shipped Burnout Paradise for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America. Burnout Paradise will be available in Europe for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on January 28.

Burnout Paradise takes a new direction for the franchise, with an open-world design that includes a seamless online and offline mode. Using the open-world model, players can decide for themselves when and where the action begins, simply by pulling up to any intersection and deciding whether to engage in that challenge or not.

Burnout Paradise lets players go online casually with the "EasyDrive Friends List" and just putter around town in Freeburn Mode. Then, if you'd like to take them on, players can immediately issue a challenge for up to seven of your friends or join forces to complete more than 300 online challenges.

Endorsing Ron Paul, and Why Progressive Dems Should Support Ron Paul

Ron Paul is my first choice for a Republican candidate. There. I've said it. Of all the Republicans, he's the one I think is the best. His positions on the constitution, on the war, on globalism on nation building and interventionism are ones I can get behind. He's not perfect, but he's far, far ahead of any other Republican in the race.

This publisher of one of the top five progressive media sites (based on traffic stats from alexa.com) is endorsing Ron Paul for Republican presidential candidate. .

Your Comments : Rise in crime worries envoy

It seems that all the nosense we hear about from police is just a window dressing. Since the chiefs can not control their subjects, I suggest that once the robbers and thuggs are caught and found guilty by court, any sentence imposed to these low lives and animals to be given to the chiefs. That will ascertain the hold on crime. The army should step in and take charge because otherwise this will continue and it has its consequences on local and tourist industry. May I ask, Teleni, what has happened to his changes he was talking about. Was it for more room for criminal to do their activities. One more thing I often get asked, why are only indian homes and businessess targeted. Probably fijians have nothing in the house for anyone to steal. Since they do not have any businessess , the question of robbing business is not there. Not all robbery is carried by fijians, but also indians and others races.

Even when the team is not performing up to expectations there is always a silver lining. They proudly flash the "Hook 'em Horns" sign even after the most crushing of defeats. They are much more than "die-hard". In fact, they are "never-die" fans. I've lived in Texas for the past twenty one years have acquired many Longhorn friends along the way. They are a bit "over the top" with all of their Longhorn paraphernalia that include an array of T-shirts, caps, watches, huge belt buckels, and rear window decals that are proudly displayed on their Texas-sized pick-ups. For the most part they are good people and I had always been somewhat supportive of the fortunes of their team. Then 2005 rolled around and everything changed. 2005 was the year that the Texas Longhorns and Ohio State Buckeyes faced each other for the first time in the storied history of College Football and "It was on".

Friday wild card

After an afternoon of food and beverages, take in the very good fireworks display that will take place around 10:00 PM.

I'll be at the Captain's Wheel. I hope those of you that attend our celebration, stop by to say hi to me.

Question: Got big plans for the weekend?

Layton pushing for federal election

MONTEBELLO, QUE. — NDP Leader Jack Layton is advocating a federal election to replace Stephen Harper as prime minister, saying a change in political direction is urgently needed.

The eagerness of New Democrats for a trip to the polls is in sharp contrast to comments emerging from Liberal MPs this week, who are suggesting economic concerns could justify putting election plans on hold.

Mr. Layton told reporters he doesn't understand the "constantly shifting" positions of the Liberal Party.

"We won't sit in our seats when we are called to vote," Mr. Layton said. "We want a change in political direction on the major issues of the country. If Mr. Harper is prepared, in the context of a minority government, to change his direction on fundamental questions, we can continue.
