Incidentally, they don't play around in Mexico--if they find out you're in their country illegally, you're gone. On the subject of citizenship by birth, in the past it has made sense that children born here in the United States are automatically citizens. But given the millions of new people who abuse this every year with "anchor babies," it's time to amend this. Changing the citizenship-by-birth requirement to specify that the parents have to be in the United States LEGALLY at the time of the child's birth would make sense, and would pretty much wipe our "anchor baby" abuse. Like Huckabee, Giuliani's another one who's not committed to securing our borders and enforcing our laws. Not acceptable for a Republican candidate. .

First Look: Ten must-see iPhone apps
Back in June, Apple's decision to limit third-party access to the iPhone to just Web-based applications —at least, for the time being—left some developers feeling shut out of what figured to be a very popular mobile device. But software makers love a good challenge. And once the iPhone came out, any ambivalence developers felt about having to build Web-based applications soon gave way to a wave of programs geared toward Apple's smartphone. There are now hundreds of apps you can access through the iPhone's Safari browser, everything from iPhone-like interfaces to existing Web sites to clever new ways of leveraging the best handheld computer platform around. Where to get started? You could scour places like iPhone Application List and iPhone Widget List, which contain links to the many varied iPhone apps out there.
January 2008
The 23-year-old bombshell met with nearly 600 service members at Camp Buehring, Kuwait Jan. 20 during her five-day United Service Organizations (USO) tour to the Gulf region. What was she wearing, you ask? A hush fell over the crowd as Johansson, wearing a pink sweater, knee-high boots and cherry-red lipstick, entered the USO. She says it's "important to give people a piece of home and to boost morale." And what a piece it is! HT: AoS Posted by Michael Goldfarb at 04:21 PM | Permalink | E-mail the author | E-mail article .
The Untold Story: How the iPhone Blew Up the Wireless Industry
At press time, analysts were speculating that customers would snap up about 3 million units by the end of 2007, making it the fastest-selling smartphone of all time. It is also arguably Apple's most profitable device. The company nets an estimated $80 for every $399 iPhone it sells, and that's not counting the $240 it makes from every two-year AT&T contract an iPhone customer signs. Meanwhile, about 40 percent of iPhone buyers are new to AT&T's rolls, and the iPhone has tripled the carrier's volume of data traffic in cities like New York and San Francisco. But as important as the iPhone has been to the fortunes of Apple and AT&T, its real impact is on the structure of the $11 billion-a-year US mobile phone industry. For decades, wireless carriers have treated manufacturers like serfs, using access to their networks as leverage to dictate what phones will get made, how much they will cost, and what features will be available on them.
Big Day Out DJs talk about their Big Day Out
His wife, meant to accompany him on the tour Down Under, is instead stuck at home in New York looking after their sick dog. ‘‘I need to play the gigs, then just get to my hotel and turn the computer on and put the camera on and try to co-ordinate -- I'm the one on the phone with the dog hospital -- just to take some of the pressure off my wife, 'cos we're a team,'' Murphy says. But the show must go on -- ‘‘It was like a personal thing for me'' Murphy says, explaining that for the past few years the timing was just not right to get the LCD band on the BDO. It was now or never. And Murphy -- who went from sleeping on the floor of his DFA label office to fronting one of the most adored outfits in dance music (‘‘pop'', he'll argue) -- for one is glad that LCD's time is now, when he's 37.
